Pascale Massin, MD, PhD - Université Paris Diderot
Pascale Massin, MD, PhD, is the former Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Hôpital Lariboisière (AP-HP) and a University Professor at Université Paris Diderot. She holds a Master's degree in "Healthcare Systems and Society" from Université Paris VII (1996), a PhD in "Hospital Care Systems" from Université Paris VII (2002), and an Accreditation to Supervise Research from Université Paris VII (2003). She has published over 180 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, participates in numerous international studies, and has been invited as a speaker at more than 120 national and international conferences. She specializes in the medical and surgical management of retinal diseases, particularly diabetic retinopathy. She created and oversees the coordination and scientific direction of the telemedicine network "OPHDIAT" for diabetic retinopathy screening, covering the entire Île-de-France region. She is also the coordinator of the clinical study for the EviRed project (Intelligent Evaluation of Diabetic Retinopathy: https://evired.org/) whose goal is to develop an AI-assisted expert system capable of identifying patients at high risk of progression towards a severe form of diabetic retinopathy. She now practices in the private sector within several ophthalmological centers.
As a member of the scientific council of the IAROD Association in France, her goal is to increase awareness of RVCL in France and to create a network in France that allows patients with RVCL to get access to all relevant information and research, by collaborating with international teams and participating in the effort to discover a treatment for this disease.
